I first fell in love with clay and its potential for transformation. A cold hard lump of this substance from the Earth seemed to melt, bend, and shape itself to it’s own desires under my hands, taking form intuitively. Often times I’m not sure I’m in control. The material is alive, and becomes what it wants to.
When I found metal, I rejected it. That was a slow love , with sharp edges . I had to work hard to speak its language. I left it for years until it won me back.
Forging adornments with a sculptural eye, each piece is its own work of art made to rest on the body and live with the wearer.
Originally from Texas, I have had the good fortune to call many places home. I am currently based in Cork, Ireland, since 2020.
I hold a Ba in Applied Art (ceramics, glass, and textiles) from Crawford College of Art and Design.
